The Colorado Chautauqua opened its doors in 1898 and is one of the few surviving campuses from the height of the Chautauqua movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As a National Historic Landmark, the Colorado Chautauqua remains committed to its historic purpose, offering outstanding cultural and educational programs in our world-famous Chautauqua Auditorium and inviting Community house. Attracting more than a million visitors each year, the Colorado Chautauqua is nestled at the foot of the famous Flatirons mountains and sits just minutes from downtown Boulder and the University of Colorado. We offer lively events, relaxing stays in our simple, but charming, private cottages and lodges, indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, wedding and celebration venues, fine dining at the historic Dining Hall, curated goods in our General Store, with direct access to thousands of acres of open space and over 40 miles of trails for all types of outdoor adventure.
