The Baxter

The Baxter is a retro-style arcade bar in Chapel Hill packed with more than fifty vintage and original arcade cabinets, plus a display of pop-art, movie and TV props, and toys to look at while playing. It operates as a full bar with an outdoor patio, indoor lounges, and hightop seating, so it is geared mainly toward adults rather than an all-day family spot. Kids and teens are only allowed in during set windows, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. and weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m., and anyone under 21 must be accompanied by an adult over 21. Games run on tokens, which can be gotten from on-site change machines or traded for at the bar, and there is also an ATM on site.
