About this place

An arts center on a six-acre former horse farm in Highlands, North Carolina, offering exhibitions and classes in various visual media for people of all ages and abilities. The galleries show work by local, regional, national and international artists and admission is free. Families can take workshops and classes in different mediums, walk the nature trail through native plants and past a waterfall, and browse art in the retail shop. The campus includes multiple studio buildings and a distinctive covered bridge entrance.

If you are a member here

A membership to The Bascom carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.

Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
