An arts center on a six-acre former horse farm in Highlands, North Carolina, offering exhibitions and classes in various visual media for people of all ages and abilities. The galleries show work by local, regional, national and international artists and admission is free. Families can take workshops and classes in different mediums, walk the nature trail through native plants and past a waterfall, and browse art in the retail shop. The campus includes multiple studio buildings and a distinctive covered bridge entrance.
A membership to The Bascom carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
