About this place

A historic house museum in South Haven where visitors learn about Liberty Hyde Bailey Jr., the influential horticulturist and philosopher who grew up here. The homestead, built between 1853 and 1856, sits on grounds that include period outbuildings like a smokehouse, blacksmith shop and carriage barn dating to 1868. Families can walk through gardens with interpretive signs, explore a short nature trail through woods that once formed part of the original farm, and see plant collections connected to Bailey's work. The property also has community garden plots and displays about life on the early commercial fruit orchard that stood here.

If you are a member here

A membership to The Bailey Museum & Gardens carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.

Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
