A museum in Lyons dedicated to the history of Rice County, Kansas, and its connection to Coronado's sixteenth-century expeditions into the region. The collection focuses on artifacts from proto-Wichita tribes who inhabited central Kansas from the 1300s through the early 1700s, along with items relating to the county's settlement by immigrants from Scandinavia, Germany, and Russia in the 1870s. The museum occupies a restored Carnegie library building and presents rotating exhibits alongside its permanent displays. A research library on the lower level holds additional materials about Rice County's past.
A membership to Rice County Historical Society – Coronado Quivira Museum carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
