About this place
Poplar Grove Speedway is a family-run dirt go-kart racing track in Kamrar, Iowa, built on the owners' farm so kids and adults could race close to home. The black dirt track has a 1/9th-mile inner and 1/7th-mile outer circuit, with straightaways banked at 4 degrees and corners at 8 degrees, and it welcomes racers of all ages and skill levels from beginners to seasoned competitors. The race season runs on a regular schedule of points races and special events, such as the anniversary celebration, with gates and hot laps typically starting in the early afternoon before evening racing. Announcers, flaggers, and photographers keep the atmosphere lively, and the track has grown into a close community gathering spot for racing families and fans.
