About this placeThe Palm Springs Air Museum houses one of the world's largest collections of static and flyable military aircraft, from World War II through more recent conflicts, spread across five air-conditioned hangars totaling 91,000 square feet. Kids can get close to more than 75 planes and helicopters, since most areas are not roped off, and explore themed hangars covering the Pacific and European theaters, the Korean and Vietnam wars, and a B-17 bomber experience. Younger visitors have their own space in the Berger Youth Exploration Center, with hands-on activities plus an F-16 flight simulator, and there is a snack spot called the Victory Canteen inside one of the hangars. The museum is wheelchair accessible throughout, with a limited number of free wheelchairs available on site, and families may spot mechanics restoring vintage aircraft in the shop area.
