A museum on Orcas Island presenting the history of the people who have lived there across different periods, from Indigenous times through the homestead era to the present day. Visitors see personal stories, artwork, crafts and objects that show how islanders of varied backgrounds shaped the island's character. The museum includes a preserved one-room schoolhouse from 1888-1918, furnished and displayed to show what school life was like for children and teachers of that time. A separate Crow Valley School Museum building also operates seasonally. The main museum is in Eastsound.
A membership to Orcas Island Historical Museums carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
