About this placeThe Oldest House Museum sits in a wood-frame home built around 1829 at 322 Duval Street, and families can walk through it at their own pace using a self-guided mobile tour included with admission. Inside, period-furnished rooms and family heirlooms trace the story of the Watlington family, while the Captain's Room holds maritime artifacts, old maps, and navigational charts tied to Key West's wrecking industry. Outside, the Tom Majors Garden offers a shaded tropical space with native plants and the oldest surviving cookhouse in Key West, a nice spot for kids to explore after the house tour. The site has an ADA-compliant ramp for wheelchairs and strollers, and metered street parking is available nearby, though it is not run by the museum itself.
A membership to Oldest House Museum and Garden carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
