About this place
Northland Ice Center is Cincinnati's first indoor, year-round ice rink, open since 1973 with a full NHL-sized ice surface. Kids can join group learn-to-skate lessons held Saturdays at 1:00 PM for ages 15 and under, with adult sessions at 1:30 PM, for $99 for six 30-minute lessons that include skate rental and practice time. Skaters aiming to compete can move into private lessons through the Northland Skating Academy. The rink is also home to youth and adult hockey programs, the Queen City Figure Skating Club, and the Northland Figure Skating Academy, and it serves as practice ice for the Cincinnati Cyclones. Parents are advised to dress kids in warm layers with gloves, and a helmet with elbow and knee pads is recommended for beginners.
