About this place
Northern Lights Arena is a two-rink ice sports facility in Alpena where kids can try hockey, figure skating, and themed glow skating sessions. The main rink seats up to 1,200 spectators and includes a concession stand and eight private locker rooms, plus an 1/8 mile indoor walking track that families can use. The facility also runs learn-to-skate programs and hosts birthday parties, and offers on-site skate sharpening with drop-off service on select afternoons. It is run by a volunteer-based organization that supports local hockey, figure skating, and curling clubs, so the ice is shared with community leagues and youth groups.
