A zoo in Pittsburgh that specializes in birds, housed in indoor habitats where many species fly freely rather than being caged. Families watch birds during feeding times, observe them in flight during shows, and can get close to individual animals through structured encounters. Some experiences, like falconry sessions where a bird lands on a gloved hand, cost extra. The Aviary also runs animal encounters focused on owls and other signature residents. Beyond the visit itself, the venue supports conservation work protecting wild bird populations and habitats around the world.
