About this place

A zoo in Brownsville covering 31 acres with tropical plants and roughly 1,600 animals across four geographic regions: Africa, Asia, Tropical America and Indo-Australia. Families can walk through exhibits including a herpetarium, aquarium, free-flight aviary, and bear grottos. Small World lets children touch and handle domesticated animals in a contact yard. The zoo participates in breeding programs for endangered species and runs conservation projects for animals including sea turtles, gorillas and crocodiles.

If you are a member here

A membership to Gladys Porter Zoo carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.

Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
