About this placeThis site is run by the Culver Historical Society, also known as the Antiquarian and Historical Society of Culver, which preserves and shares the history of Culver, Lake Maxinkuckee, the Culver Academies and nearby Union Township communities. Families can view rotating historical exhibits, including past displays on the natural history and conservation of Lake Maxinkuckee, along with collections of old newspapers, yearbooks, and photographs. The organization also maintains Heritage Park at the corner of Jefferson and Main Streets and hosts community history and cultural events throughout the year, many of them free to attend. It works with the Indiana Historical Society and helps register local historic properties, so kids can get a sense of how the town and lake area developed over time.
A membership to Museum of Culver & Lake Maxinkuckee History carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
