Lake Ridge Bank River Rink is an outdoor community ice rink in Monona where kids and families can skate under the open sky. Public skate sessions let beginners and experienced skaters alike glide on the ice, while lessons and workshops are offered for first-timers of any age up through intermediate skaters. Families can also book birthday party packages that combine skating with treats and celebration, or reserve the rink privately for a group or team event. After skating, visitors can warm up with hot cocoa and marshmallows, grab a slice of pizza, or get Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream at the rink. Because it is outdoors, the rink will not open, or will close early, if temperatures drop below 10 degrees, and lessons may be rescheduled in very cold weather, with updates posted online and on Facebook.
