A local history museum housed in two historic homes that showcase Montgomery County's past. The main collection occupies the Grogan/Cochran house, a 1924 residence built by a family who operated dozens of sawmills across the region. The Strake/Gray home, moved from the county's oilfield, tells the story of oil industry workers. Exhibits cover the lumber and oil industries, everyday life for residents, and local culture. The museum also displays work by artist Mark Clapham, who lived in Conroe. Families can explore permanent and temporary exhibits throughout both buildings, attend children's programs, and browse the gift shop.
A membership to Heritage Musuem of Montgomery County carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
