About this placeFlamingo Gardens is a 60-acre botanical garden and wildlife sanctuary near Fort Lauderdale that has been open since 1927. Kids can walk among more than 3,000 species of tropical and native plants, ride a tram through the grounds, and visit an aviary, with last entry and tram rides at 4:00 PM and the aviary closing at 4:30 PM. The wildlife sanctuary is home to permanently injured or non-releasable Florida native animals including alligators, bobcats, eagles, otters, panthers, and flamingos. Throughout the year the gardens add rotating exhibits such as dinosaurs or giant bugs, plus events like an orchid and bromeliad show and holiday light displays. Children age 2 and under get in free.
A membership to Flamingo Gardens carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
