About this place
Epic Kart Racing sets up a seasonal ice karting track on the frozen surface of South Center Lake in Center City, letting drivers pilot studded-tire karts built for sideways power slides rather than straight-line speed. The 2026 season is expected to run from February 14 to March 1, with sessions priced at $35 for an 8-minute sprint, $69 for a 15-minute feature race, and $139 for a 45-minute endurance run, all including helmet rental. Drivers must be at least 14 years old and 4 feet 10 inches tall, so this is an outing for teens rather than young children. Riders should dress as they would for skiing or snowmobiling, with windproof gloves, snow pants, insulated boots and a warm jacket, and full-face helmets are required though sanitized ones are provided. The operator also arranges group buyouts and custom challenge formats for team events, and recommends booking ahead since walk-up spots are limited.
