About this place
Columbian Park Zoo is a seasonal city zoo in Lafayette that opens daily from mid-April through mid-October, including holidays, with exhibits closing shortly before the zoo itself closes. Kids can ride the Columbian Park Zoo Express train, pedal boats, and a carousel during regular hours, and in warmer months there is a Butterfly Garden Party exhibit open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Families can book a Zoo Birthday Party package for a child's special day, and there are family programs like Pet Prep 101 for kids considering a new pet. Parking is available on nearby streets or in a lot on Scott Street, since the zoo entrance itself has no direct car access. The zoo closes for winter but reopens briefly for the ticketed Boo at the Zoo event in October.
