Clawesome is a claw machine arcade in downtown San Mateo, filled with Japanese-style claw machines stocked with plushies and collectibles that get swapped out every week. Kids play by tapping a game card or the Clawesome mobile app to start a machine, loading credits and tracking any prizes they win. The arcade also runs tournaments and XP challenges with leaderboards, giving visitors a chance to compete for prizes. It's open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 8pm, staying open until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and claw machines are also available to rent for parties and other events.
