About this placeChristmas Capital of Arkansas is Batesville's seasonal holiday celebration, held each winter around Riverside Park and the Batesville Community Center, where millions of lights are set up for families to enjoy by car, on foot, or by carriage. Kids can ride the custom White River Express train ($6 per person, free under age 2), skate on the ice rink, and try two newer attractions: the 150-foot Avalanche mega-slide and the 50-foot self-propelled Reindeer Speedway, both offered for $10 per person with unlimited nightly play. The event also includes horse-drawn carriage rides, a parade, free movies, Santa photos, and lit walking trails through the display. Public restrooms are open during operating hours, and parking is available at the Community Center and nearby lots, with overflow parking and a lit walking trail from the Harrison Street commuter lot. Leashed pets are welcome in the park, and in bad weather some activities like skating, carriage rides, and train rides may close while the drive-through lights typically stay on.
