A museum dedicated to interpreting and preserving the history of Charlotte and its surrounding region. The building houses four galleries with permanent and changing exhibitions covering more than 400 years of local history. Visitors can tour the 1774 Alexander Rock House, a brick home built by a framer of North Carolina's first Constitution, along with its original springhouse and kitchen. The grounds also feature the Siloam School, one of the county's oldest African American schools and a relocated Rosenwald structure. Families can explore how the community has developed over centuries and see the American Freedom Bell, a seven-ton bronze bell donated in 2000.
A membership to Charlotte Museum of History carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
