CCNY Planetarium

CCNY Planetarium is a small planetarium tucked in the basement of the Marshak Science Building on City College's Hamilton Heights campus. Kids and families can catch live space shows, held on Wednesday afternoons this semester, where staff use a universe simulator to take viewers on a tour that starts with a flyover of the surrounding neighborhood before heading to the Moon, Mars, and eventually distant exoplanet systems and intergalactic space. The shows are aimed at a broad audience, from K-12 school groups to CCNY students to the general public, and seats need to be reserved in advance. Convent Ave is closed to through traffic during the day, so visitors should plan to park elsewhere and walk to campus, and anyone needing the elevator should contact the planetarium ahead of time since a public safety officer must assist.
