Cardinal Cove is an 18-hole mini golf course in Rockport that has been welcoming families since 1982, run today by Tom and Mary who took over from the original owners. The quirky course doubles as a mini botanical garden, planted with edible, native, and medicinal plants that kids can wander through between holes, and resident cats sometimes wander onto the greens looking for a pet. Picnic tables are set up on site, making it an easy spot for a multi-generational outing, and visitors are welcome to linger in the gardens even outside golfing hours for coffee or reading. The course is seasonal, staying open until dark or whenever the lights are on, and closes for the winter in early November.
