About this placeThis museum occupies the former chapel building of Naval Air Station Brunswick and tells the story of maritime patrol aviation, from World War II through the Cold War era. Families can see exhibits on aircraft like the F4U Corsair, P-2 Neptune and P-3 Orion, with video, photographs, and diagrams explaining the technology and missions flown from this base. A highlight for kids is the wide-screen flight simulator built in-house, which lets visitors take virtual control of the Corsair, P-2, P-3, and other planes including the Blue Angels' F-18 Hornet. The site also includes the Memorial and Friendship Gardens, a tended outdoor space honoring the sailors who served and died flying out of NAS Brunswick, giving children a chance to learn about sacrifice alongside the aviation history.
