About this place

Wicker Ice is a community-run outdoor ice skating rink in Wicker Park, Chicago, offering free skating for anyone when the natural, non-refrigerated ice is frozen. Families can bring their own skates and enjoy the rink together, and children ages 5-12 have historically been able to join free skating lessons on select Saturdays. The rink relies on volunteers and donations from the local community to operate each winter season.
