A three-acre botanical garden in Occidental filled with rare plants, shrubs and trees arranged across winding paths and connected by 34 bridges. The garden includes five ponds, conifers, camellias, magnolias and ferns, with shaded seating tucked throughout. Families can walk the grounds, sit by the water, sketch or read, and picnic. Children under 12 visit free. The garden opens Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 4pm, with weekday visits available by arrangement.
A membership to Western Hills Garden carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
