Free or discounted entry for members of AHS Garden Network, ROAM, NARM.
A botanical garden on the UC Santa Cruz campus showcasing plants adapted to Mediterranean climates and dry conditions, with collections from California and the Southern Hemisphere. Families can walk the gardens year-round to observe different plants in bloom at different seasons, from succulents and salvias to flowering bottlebrush and banksias. The arboretum runs recurring events on the first Tuesdays of the month, has a nursery selling plants grown on site, and a shop stocking local artwork, handmade jewelry, books and nature gifts. Wildlife watching is particularly good in summer months. Picnicking and journaling are welcome.
A membership to UC Santa Cruz Arboretum carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in these programs.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
