A 3.5-acre botanical garden in Walnut Creek displaying succulents, cacti, agaves, aloes, yuccas, and drought-tolerant plants from around the world. Families can wander the meandering paths to explore thousands of plant species, with something in bloom most of the year. The garden is family and pet-friendly, and kids can discover plants while learning about climate-resilient gardening. An on-site nursery sells many of the plants displayed in the garden, ranging from small specimens to larger sizes. The garden also hosts classes and workshops, and offers a map at the kiosk to help visitors navigate the collection.
A membership to The Ruth Bancroft Garden carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in these programs.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
