The Mitten Children’s Museum

The Mitten Children's Museum is a nonprofit, hands-on museum in South Haven with exhibits themed around Michigan life. Kids can explore themed spaces like the Great Lakes room, a Farmers' Market setup, a Motown & Me area, and a MakerSpace for building and inventing. Activities let children pretend to be a mechanic tuning up a car, race matchbox cars, build with tools, put on puppet shows, and compare their feet to animal tracks while learning about local wildlife. The museum is designed for play-based learning across a range of ages and abilities, though the current building is not fully accessible for visitors using wheelchairs or with mobility limitations.
