A restored Victorian mansion in Wilmington built in 1864 by Phineas Banning, a founder of the city. Visitors can tour 18 rooms of the 23-room house, which displays furniture and furnishings from the family's decades of occupation. The museum offers living history experiences and educational programs for primary school children, helping them understand 19th-century domestic life. The house sits within 20 acres of parkland, and a historic stagecoach barn is also on the grounds. The residence is a protected landmark at city, state and national level.
A membership to The Banning Museum carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
