Sugar River Raceway is an outdoor go-kart track in Brodhead that has been running since 1959, built around real sprint racing rather than a slow amusement-park ride. The course is a half-mile paved asphalt track with 10 turns, and the rental karts used in its Rent-to-Race program can hit speeds around 50 mph with strong cornering performance. Families, friends, and groups can book rent-to-race sessions, open track practice days, or the popular Thursday night program, which offers 30-lap races for $70. The raceway also supports racers who own their own equipment through a season-long point series, an onsite pro shop, and kart service and tuning. It operates seasonally from April through November, with hours varying by day, including Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons and later hours on Thursday.
