About this place
Lou & Gib Reese Ice Arena, also known as Newark Ice Rink, is a community ice rink offering public skating sessions with rental skates available for both figure and hockey styles. Kids can take lessons through the Basic Skills Academy, join freestyle figure skating practice sessions, or learn hockey fundamentals through the Blue Jackets Learn To Play program, with stick-and-puck sessions for players wanting extra practice. The rink hosts birthday parties with options ranging from public skate add-ons to full private rentals, and holds a monthly Homeschool Skate that can count toward a PE credit. Broomball, played in shoes rather than skates, is also offered, and the facility includes a pro shop for equipment and skate sharpening plus outdoor pickleball courts.
