A museum in Howes Cave dedicated to presenting Iroquois culture through art and archaeology. The collection includes modern artwork by Haudenosaunee artists from the 1960s onwards, alongside archaeological finds and historical materials spanning thousands of years. Families can join guided tours lasting about 45 minutes to an hour, which introduce the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and walk through current exhibitions and permanent displays. The museum emphasizes the artistic traditions and values of Iroquois peoples, from basketry and carving to painting, and holds particular focus on the local Schoharie Mohawk history and regional archaeological sites.
A membership to Iroquois Museum carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
