GF Trail Rides offers guided horseback trail rides across a family ranch in the Texas Hill Country that has been passed down since the 1850s. Riders of any experience level are welcome, and every trip starts with a safety briefing and a basic riding lesson before heading out on gentle, well vetted horses (there is a 300 lb weight limit per rider). Kids who feel nervous can be led behind the guide horse to build confidence, and the roughly 1.5 to 2 hour ride passes through hills with wide Hill Country views, wildlife like deer, foxes and armadillos, and a herd of rodeo bucking horses roaming free. Groups are capped at 12 riders, rides run seven days a week at $115 per person, and a private couples ride is available Monday through Thursday for $345.
