The Center for Puppetry Arts’ Mission is to inspire imagination, education, and community through the global art of puppetry. The Center opened in 1978 and is the nation’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the art of puppetry. Our founder, Vincent Anthony, was joined by Jim Henson and Kermit the frog on opening day to cut the ceremonial ribbon. The Center focuses on presenting a fully rounded experience of puppetry through our three capstones of performance, education, and museum exhibition. Annually, the Center hosts more than 500 performances, leads people of all ages through educational workshops, presents rotating exhibitions centering artists and cultural histories, connects over 70,000 area students with creative education, and opens its doors to more than 200,000 visitors! The Center for Puppetry Arts is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
A membership to Center for Puppetry Arts carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
