About this placeThis museum is part of the Swedish American Museum complex in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood and focuses on the immigrant experience, giving kids a hands-on way to learn about Swedish-American history and culture. It is included in general museum admission, priced at $6 for adults, $4 for children, students and seniors, and $15 for a family pass covering two adults and up to three children under 18. The children's museum keeps its own hours, open Tuesday through Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekends 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families can also stop by on the last Friday of the month for Late Night at the Museum, when it stays open until 7 p.m. with free admission after 4 p.m. The site is wheelchair accessible and has limited free parking a half block away, plus metered street parking nearby.
