Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum

The Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum honors military and civilian personnel who served during wars and conflicts from 1942 to 1970, with exhibits that trace the story of the former Bakalar Air Force Base. Displays include scale aircraft models, a recreated barracks, and galleries covering WWII glider pilots and the Tuskegee Airmen. An art collection and information on aircraft manufacturers round out the exhibits, giving kids a hands-on look at aviation and wartime history. The museum also has a library and conference space, and the site includes a map and directions for planning a visit.
