An art museum in downtown Lakeland with a permanent collection spanning ceramics, photography, and American art from the 1960s onward. The museum hosts rotating exhibitions drawn from its own holdings and recent acquisitions, along with touring shows. Families can attend Friday morning storytelling sessions for preschoolers, join gallery tours led by trained docents, listen to live music events, and take part in art classes. The museum also runs the annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards exhibition. A bar on site offers refreshments.
A membership to Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art at Florida Southern College carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
Reciprocal programs are built for travel and most exclude places close to the one where you hold your membership, so this is worth the most when you are away from home. How reciprocal memberships work
