About this place

This university museum on the UC Santa Barbara campus sits beside a Pacific lagoon and houses collections spanning fine art, architecture and design. Families can view rotating exhibitions plus permanent holdings that include the Fernand Lungren collection of American West paintings, Old Master canvases from the Sedgwick Collection, Renaissance medals and plaquettes, and one of the largest architectural archives in North America focused on Southern California designers. As a teaching museum connected to the university, it also runs educational programming meant to engage visitors with art, architecture and design history. There is no stated age restriction, making it a quiet, low-key stop for older children or teens interested in art and design rather than hands-on play.

If you are a member here

A membership to Art, Design & Architecture Museum, UC Santa Barbara carries reciprocal admission, so the same card is worth free or discounted entry at other places in this program.
