About this place
Abilene Zoo is a family wildlife attraction where kids can see animal exhibits, take up-close tours, and learn through hands-on education programs like Zoo Camp, Zoo Tots and Zoo Teens. The zoo is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with last admission at 4:00 PM, and younger visitors can enjoy a carousel and train ride plus giraffe feeding, both running from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Families can also book birthday parties or field trips on site, and the zoo hosts seasonal events such as Boo at the Zoo and a Christmas Celebration. As a non-profit, it also runs conservation projects including bird rehabilitation and a monarch waystation, giving kids a look at wildlife care beyond the exhibits.
